The Design and Display
The Inifinix smart 4 features a design that seems to be coined out of some of the already Infinix phones. It is simple to design with basically nothing to trigger excitement.
The smartphone features a plastic build, with plastic covering the frame and the rear.
The Infinix Smart 4 ditches the faux glass back design the Infinix smart 3 had. It now features a gradient design on the rear, that comprises of dark and light color shades.
The rear is home to a single camera system, a camera flash, a capacitive fingerprint sensor, the Infinix logo, and also the Smart model logo.
Switch to the front of the Infinix Smart 4 X653, you find a notched 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1600 and a screen density of 266 ppi.
The mobile phone comes in a trio of options for colors, Midnight Black, Quetzal Cyan and Cosmic Purple.
The Infinix Smart 4 packs in a set of low-end cameras. Cameras that cannot be described as basic, due to the fact that they lack some of the features that have become essential in smartphone photography.
It features a single 8MP camera on the rear. This camera is supported by a dual-LED flash, lets you shoot photos in HDR and also shoots 720p and 1080p videos with frame rates maxed at 30fps.
The selfie camera on the Infinix Smart 4 is a 5MP camera. This camera is capable of taking photos and also 720p and 1080p videos at frame rates maxed at 30fps.
Hardware and Software
In this era where smartphone technology is constantly evolving, it is difficult to classify the hardware. There are a lot of mobile phones tagged low-end today, have capable specs that crush that of the Infinix Smart 4.
However, the smartphone can be best described as a smartphone designed for carrying out the least of all tasks. When I say least, I mean surfing the internet with a max of 3 tabs, using lite apps and playing extremely low-end games.
The Infinix Smart 4 features a quad-core Mediatek Helio A22 processor clocked at 2.0GHz and a PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
The Infinix Smart 4 X653 features a 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, with up to 256GB for storage expansion via Micro-SD. It also houses a Non-removable 4000mAh battery.
On the software side, the Infinix Smart 4 runs Infinix’s interface on top of the Android 9 Pie (Go edition) operating system.
Having the Go edition of the Android 9 operating system means the phone comes packed with lite apps that do not require a lot of power.
The Infinix Smart 4 features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a micro-USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth 5.0.
Internet connectivity is capped at 4G LTE. There isn’t any 5G support here.
